Hello Dear Readers!

Who here’s ready for the New Year and all the changes it’ll bring? I know I am. Going into 2024, the Royal landscape looks decidedly placid, which is a welcome change. For the past few years, the start of the year has wrought many headlines and crises (more on this in a later newsletter).

I for one am looking forward to new photos released of the Princess of Wales to commemorate her birthday on January 9th. Which is why I wanted to do something a little different for the next few newsletters: We’re focusing on the last season of The Crown! The infamous fashion show, including some of the exclusive pics from the runway I got my hands on! Talking about what they got wrong and right about Catherine, Princess of Wales! And I also plan to debunk one of the biggest myths about her: She dumped the friends she had in an attempt to ensnare Prince William. In actuality, Kate has a very tight-knit inner circle. I had a lot of fun writing these newsletters and I hope you enjoy reading them! Now onto this installment of what The Crown got right (and wrong): Catherine and Carole’s relationship in regards to William:

Something The Crown got massively right was Carole Middleton’s speech to Catherine about her marriage to Michael Middleton. Carole’s paternal family are descended from coal miners. The upward mobility began when Carole’s grandfather Thomas Harrison, fed up with the grim prospects of life in a coal town, packed up and took his family to the London area, not with any grand plans, but simply to get cleaner, safer work. Upon her engagement to Prince William, tabloids described Princess Catherine’s ascension “From Pit to Palace” a rite of passage for this generation of Royal girlfriends/wives as we witnessed again years later with the “Straight Outta Compton” headlines for Meghan Markle’s mother).
