One Step Forward, Three Steps Back
The Duke of Sussex’s phone hacking claims against The Sun were thrown out today, but an element of the case can move forward
Hello everyone!
We received news today that the decision for this case against NGN was published. Prince Harry has been refused the right to bring forward his claim in regards to phone hacking against the Sun and News of the World. His claim about the “secret agreement” between Buckingham Palace and the Press was also thrown out due to lack of any real evidence. To quote the judge:
“The problem with the Duke’s pleaded case is that there is nothing other than his rather vague and limited evidence to support [his claims].”
Harry is, however, allowed to continue a claim for unlawful information gathering. Of said “evidence” of unlawful information gathering? In reference to this, the judge said that there was no substantial evidence for him to cross reference, therefore said it could it go trial.
