What a whirlwind the past 24 hours have been! Many thanks for your emails, thoughts, and theories! I'll be delving into a significant one today. The day has culminated in an update to the Royal family website. At last, Harry and Meghan have achieved what they've been striving for since being informed back in 2018 that any children they had wouldn't carry the titles of Prince or Princess.

Perhaps they were out of official letterhead stationery at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday. Maybe the junior aide in charge of sending out press releases was off sick, and there was no one left to mind the laptops. Perhaps King Charles forgot to hit send on his email expressing his utter delight at having two new Prince and Princesses in the family

Regardless of the specific cause, it is unprecedented for titles to be announced by People Magazine, a publication primarily known for sharing celebrity news such as baby photos and introducing new reality television stars. The fact that an American tabloid has surpassed the British press in providing updates on Royal titles underscores the significant distance the Sussexes have traveled from the royal fold. It is clear that Buckingham Palace was caught off guard by this development. Within an hour of the news becoming public, the Palace declined to comment on journalists' inquiries and issued a concise statement indicating that the website would be updated in accordance with the Sussexes's wishes
