Silly Season
You might be wondering about the term “Silly Season”. Essentially, it refers to the summer period when the Royal Family typically reduces its public engagements. With fewer official duties to cover, the press often turns its attention to more frivolous or trivial matters.
The media, ever-hungry for content, fills its pages and airtime with stories that’d ordinarily be considered insignificant. Concerns about public spending and the monarchy’s role are frequently sidelined in favour of sensationalised or manufactured narratives. It’s crucial to approach stories circulated during Silly Season with a critical eye. Many of the narratives presented during this period are rehashed or exaggerated versions of previously established accounts.
We’re happy to announce that Summer just got a whole lot more interesting thanks to Prince Harry. The tabloids are rejoicing as he arrived just in time to inject some excitement into the typically quiet summer months and provide ample fodder for the tabloids.
A bombshell report in People Magazine, the exclusive outlet granted access to Harry and Meghan’s May trip to Nigeria, paints a sad, troubling picture of the ongoing rift between the Duke of Sussex and his father, King Charles. Co-authored by Simon Perry, the sole journalist permitted to accompany the couple to Nigeria, the article claims that sources close to Harry [wink wink] say the King has been unresponsive to Harry’s attempts at reconciliation, ignoring both calls and correspondence.
Before we talk about the demands and sly blackmailing seen in the article and why we believe this new story is in response to some unwelcome news Harry may have received recently, we need to, as always, go back in time to understand how we arrived at this crossroads.
